Rune talks about his own experiences of Finfaring: the Nordic people's ancient practise of traveling in order to seek encounters with other cultures in order to be able to view oneself and one's own culture from the outside, and in doing so find new ways of relating to oneself, one's culture, and the culture of your hosts.

Gifts and gift giving are essential parts of animist and pre-industrial societies. Such a simple thing as 'a gift', when incorporated into the manner of all social relations leads to concrete, measurable changes in economies by boosting liquidity and eroding class divisions. In Nordic tradition a gift *must* be reciprocated, raising barter and trade into an ever present awareness of our social relations by setting them in law.

Rune responds to the criticism 'Nordic Animism isn't historical'. Rune discusses the nature of scholarship, the differences between 'history' and 'historiography', and how contemporary ideas are always only a staring point for understanding the ideas of the past.
