Logan Gelbrich is former professional baseball player, writer of a best seller and owner of Deuce Gym. But to hang those titles on him would be a disservice, for he is much more. A deep and purposeful thinker, Logan shares insights into: breaking stereotypes, coaching for all people, the growth mindset, and embracing the process and enjoying the mundane. This was an amazing conversation and we are really proud to share this with you.
In this episode, we are delighted to be joined by Lucy Lismore. From the UK to Australia and back again, Lucy's adventure has been both physical and metaphorical. From a small spark that proved to be a catalyst for change that has been powered by curiosity and enjoyment. Lucy is simply one of the most upbeat and positive people you could come across. Her transformational story became mainstream in the press in recent years, but that’s only a fraction of why this conversation is an essential listen. Lucy’s enthusiasm for her chosen path radiates out, and we can all take something away from the idea that you’re more likely to stick with something if you enjoy it.
As the 2020 Tokyo Olympics finally gets underway, albeit now in 2021, we are delighted to be joined by athlete and Olympian Heather Fell. Heather won a silver medal in 2008 at the Beijing games, and tells us the fascinating story that surrounds this achievement and what followed, through to Triathlon, ultra-running and a media career. From her tiny quarantine hotel room in Tokyo, whilst awaiting commentary duties to begin at the games, Heather provides everyday insights from a world class perspective that can be applied broadly.
We are humbled to be joined by Ian Morgan. Ian hasn't always been an ultra runner. In the not so distant past you would likely find him nursing a beer whilst watching some mind numbing TV show, but then one day he put the beer down and went for a run. He's still running, and he'll probably run for the rest of his life. With frank honesty and openness, Ian talks about his journey, his motivations and how he turned his life around and became happy. And if life's not about happiness, what else is there?
We are joined by Marcus Smith, a true inspiration and motivational human. Marcus is an endurance athlete, coach, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and founder of InnerFight in Dubai. Hold tight and strap in as we had so much to talk about, and we're convinced that you will take a lot away from this one.
For this episode we are delighted to joined by Andrew Tracey. AT is the fitness editor of Mens Health UK, host of the Bulldog Gear Podcast, creator of a multitude of resources, training plans and cool t-shirts, and much, much more.
We talk about doing pull-ups on the side of a travelodge, the fitness industry, fitness magazines, getting older, not realising what is really important, role models, taking responsibility, and just had a really good conversation. We really enjoyed it, and I hope you do too and are able to take away something positive and useful from it.
Kicking things off with an introduction of sorts, Sean and Paul discuss their approach to training, health and a generally active life without the need to ever set foot inside a gym. They discuss human capability, messing around on the monkey bars in the park, why what you do doesn't matter as long as you just do something, and that bags of cement and tins of paint are not the most ideal equipment for working out with.
