As Pastor John closes out his tenure at Normandale, here are the things he has appreciated and what he would like to challenge the church to continue in the future.

In James 1, James reminds believers that both trials and temptations will come in life, but that God intends both to deepen our faith in Him. A steadfast, persevering faith is the result of counting it all joy when we are under trials, as we remember the One who is sovereign over all things.

From this familiar psalm (23), we learn that we can trust God as our Good Shepherd and pursue God as our Good Friend. All because of all that He is and does. Listen and grow in worship.

Paul describes what healthy church leadership looks like in 1 Thessalonians 2, then he gives an example of it in Acts 20. The peoples' response shows the value of healthy church leadership, even in the midst of transition.

We love and celebrate Christ's life, death, and resurrection, but what happened next? And why does His ascension matter to our lives today? Because He is the King and He is our Mediator, among many other things. And that gives us confidence!
