We all have regrets. What does God want us to do with them? We learn today from Jesus' interaction with Peter that He wants us to live a life beyond our regrets. This 4-week series will help us recognize our regrets, release our regrets, and see how God can redeem our regrets. (HT: Dave Ferguson)

Many people participated in Jesus' entry into Jerusalem the week He was crucified. Not all of them had the correct perspective, though. "Who do you say that I am?" Jesus asks. How we answer that question makes all the difference in the world.

The gospel came to you most likely through a personal relationship, like a family member or a friend. Every one of us is now commissioned to go make disciples in this same way, empowered by the gracious gospel. Just like Israel often misapplied God's grace only to themselves, we can often restrict God's grace to ourselves (at least functionally). God's heart is for all the nations and for unity amidst the diversity of His Kingdom.

Let's dream a little bit. What if we actually did or believed or stood on what God has said? What would change? For example, what if we actually loved our enemies? Not just tolerated them, but actually and tangibly loved them. God's image would be revealed and their life might be changed. Be challenged in many ways through this sermon.

All of Matthew 5 has been building to this point, verse 48, where Jesus commands us to be perfect as He is perfect. That flies in the face of our grace-tuned ears, so what does Jesus mean here? Even as we speak of the gospel, don't lose the weight of this command.
