The second coming of Christ raises many questions and debates. But we are clear on a few things, especially how His imminent return should change our lives today. We are to live holy lives and to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Listen to this sermon from 2 Peter 3:8-15a.

How in the world are we able to faithfully follow Jesus for the long haul in the midst of great brokenness around us and inside of us? Only through the sustaining grace of Jesus, coupled with the hope of His soon-coming return. Listen to what a life well-lived looks like from 1 Corinthians 1:3-9.

The point of Christmas is not family, or presents, or egg nog. The point of Christmas is that the birth of Jesus was a war declaration against the enemy, as King Jesus came to destroy the enemy's works. We must start with the supremacy of Christ in order to set a solid foundation for why Christmas/Advent matters.

What is God's will for my life? A common question. Apart from the big decisions in our lives, we know for certain a few things that God says are His will for our lives. And focusing our attitudes on joy, prayer, and thanksgiving will found all the other decisions well.

As the image of God, each of us has the responsibility to represent Him to the world. Since sin has marred that image, we need remaking into the perfect image of God, Jesus Christ. We then imitate Him as a response to that grace, primarily by loving others sacrificially as He has loved us.

We believe that all people are created in the image of God with tremendous potential for good but marred from birth and by choice by sin. We also believe that the only hope for lasting joy and peace is the substitionary life and death of Jesus Christ. This belief leads to be graciously hospitable to all people.

You may feel too far gone, or that God could never love someone like you. The father in this story proves you wrong. But you must admit you need help and come home to Jesus. (HT: Dave Ferguson)
