Normandy FM

It's a low energy episode this week as the boys recover from PAX South to talk about a game they're still not particularly jiving with just yet. This episode we're talking about Ostagar and how it propels Dragon Age: Origins forward. Also on the docket is talk of Alistair's fractured future, Morrigan and Flemeth's mysterious role in all of this, and how Leliana's consistent presence in the Dragon Age universe.

For those of you that couldn't make it, we wanted to get a recording of Eric and Kenneth's PAX South panel featuring Josh Silverman and Kate Sánchez ranking the Mass Effect squadmates. We did manage to do that, but we weren't able to get a recording through the equipment. So, we did record the whole thing on Eric's phone, and while it might not be the best we could have hoped for, it is the one we've got. Also the phone was right next to Kenneth so his voice is especially loud.

But we make do with what we've got. Thanks to everyone who came to the panel. Your enthusiasm made it even better, even though you're all wrong about Kaidan.

Normandy FM is beginning a new retrospective series focusing on Bioware's Dragon Age series. Starting with Dragon Age: Origins, Eric Van Allen and Kenneth Shepard are breaking down all the best and worst parts of the world of Thedas. This week we discuss the multiple origin stories the game begins with, along with how they can frame a player's perception of the universe right out the gate.

Well Normandy crew, it seems our time among the stars has finally come to an end. This week we're wrapping up Mass Effect: Andromeda and getting out all the feelings that come with that.

We're finally learning all Alec's secrets, wrapping up our respective love stories, and saving Meridian from the Archon. Our work in settling Andromeda is done...or is it?

To cap things off, we talk about the possibility of an Andromeda sequel, Bioware's current path, and what we're looking forward to discussing when we start our Dragon Age retrospective next year.

Thank you to everyone who followed us on this journey through the Milky Way to Andromeda. We hope you'll join us again in 2020 when we make the jump to Thedas.

In our penultimate Mass Effect: Andromeda episode we've got some loose ends to tie up.

We've got to settle things between the exiles and the Initiative, see if we can patch things up with the Krogan, and learn some more about the Kett's inner workings along the way. It's time for some real OWBS, friends.

It's all about Jaal this week, folks.

But in actuality it's about some of Andromeda's worst story beats and the execution of such.

Ginny Woo returns and Ty Galiz-Rowe comes onto the show for the first time to talk about how Jaal is a vehicle through which Bioware attempts to downplay some of Andromeda's worst truths. And things get rowdier than usual.

Prima Games EIC and noted Bioware enthusiast Liana Ruppert joins us on a rescue mission of Liam's own making as we discuss one of Mass Effect Andromeda's funniest missions but also one of its most heartfelt.

We talk how Liam's impatience ends up hurting his cause, and how he might evolve more in a possible future Mass Effect game. Along the way we get into some rants about how Andromeda played out in the public eye and the greater implications it has about the state of fan/developer relations.
