In Muir Woods this year’s Coho salmon have vanished, prompting scientists to worry about extinction.

This year fisheries biologists took drastic steps: rescuing the remaining juvenile fish from Redwood Creek in Muir Woods. These fish are now being raised at Warm Springs Dam, at Lake Sonoma, waiting to grow and one day return to the wild. KRCB science reporter Danielle Venton visited them this week.

For a town shaken awake by a major earthquake just five months ago, Napa is doing quite well now.

Micreobeads are tiny balls of plastic, so small they pass through most filters. Which is part of the reason they have become a big problem.
