For state and non-state actors, international exchanges serve as catalyst to connect people, ideas, cultures, and economies. Across the public and private sector, beneficiaries of exchanges have an opportunity to expand their peer-to-peer connections through these enriching experiences, which in many instances, have uncovered opportunities for regional cohesion and fostered fruitful relationships with industry counterparts. Through the lens of international exchange, “Can’t Stop the Feeling: Soft Power and North American Public Diplomacy” will address how exchange programs, both formal and informal, help cement a stronger North American identity through the avenues of arts, culture, sports, and the public and private sector by showcasing the impact that social ties forged through exchange have had in the region.
