As we examine what the true Christmas spirit should be, we find three main things it should affect throughout the entire year - mission, prayer, and study.
God did not intend for you to live in fear. In fact, God is about replacing fear with joy. As we continue in our Advent series, we see examples of God replacing fear with joy in the Bible, and learn how we can experience that ourselves.
Each week during Advent we will deal with a concept that THE COMING of Jesus brought. The intent of this series is to disconnect with the hurriedness and consumerism of the season, and to instead connect with these themes. Tonight we look at hope.
As we learn from this story in Mark 14, cherishing Jesus is incredibly important even though it often gets overlooked for other good works. And when we truly cherish and worship Jesus first, our mission should flow out of that.
As we finish the second half of the Olivette Discourse in Mark, we see Jesus teaching about the warning signs of the end times, while we draw our hope from his second coming.
