Click to Play Violent extraction by Maxxam/Pacific Lumber Co. hired climbers, at 180 feet, in the tree-top of an old growth redwood tree named "Allah." The climbers that the company hires are not officers of the law, nor are they deputized, and should have no right to lay their hands on any members of the public. Click to Play Jamie "Root" McGuinn was active with North Coast Earth First!, in the Mattole and on Gypsy Mountain, and was also involved with the resistance to mountaintop removal and development on the East Coast, in West Virginia and North Carolina. Jamie "Root" McGuinn was killed in a motorcycle accident with a logging truck, on October 5, 2006, in North Carolina.
