As we enter into the 9th chapter of this great letter, the author wants us to consider the Tabernacle and its function. In one sense, we are to see its glory in that it is a shadow pointing to something better- in another sense, we are to recognize its limitations as a temporal system which was unable to make anything perfect. In both senses, we are to be led to see the need for Christ as the High Priest of a perfect covenant, sealed by a perfect sacrifice.
