In Colossians 3:5, we read that we are to "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry." In Colossians 1:24, Paul says, "I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church."
