Sermon 10-25-15

Matthew is a unique Gospel account because it starts with the genealogy of Jesus.  Reading through these passages of Scripture quickly learn that this was not your ordinary family tree.  By tracing Jesus’ heritage we find family members were faithful to God, courageous, and even those who became royalty.   We also find quite a bit of dysfunction.  The stories of their lives reveal lying, prostitution, and even murder.    Yet God still chose to reveal his plan to fulfill His promises through this family.

Jesus outlined what a healthy relationship with him looks like in John 15:1-11.  Learning to Abide in Christ is a very important discipline for believers.

We are really not designed to be in charge of our own destiny –Jesus actually tells us as much.

Jesus explains to us that He is so much more than just a mere human.   He wants us to know Him in a life altering way.
