Temperatures start off in the 20s and 30s farther up north but will be dropping throughout the day. By the afternoon areas of Minnesota and North Dakota will drop to the single digits.

On Friday light snow will move through the area. With gusty winds this will create blowing snow. In the Red River Valley area ground blizzards will occur and visibility, especially in rural areas, will be reduced.

Saturday starts off in the teens for most of the region. Out west it will be warmer in the 20s and 30s to start the day. Saturday morning will see cloudy skies in the Dakotas. These clouds will move east and by the afternoon, Minnesota will experience overcast skies.

For Sunday our next chance of snow moves into North Dakota and northern Minnesota. Colder air will come in as well, being in the single digits by the afternoon in areas of North Dakota.
