It's the state of the state of North Dakota wildlife and outdoors! Chad Koel welcomes ND Game & Fish Outreach Biologist Doug Meier for an in-depth discussion on everything outdoors.
Temperatures stay in the 40s and 50s for most of the Northland this weekend, and by Sunday much of the region will be looking at a chance for showers.
Cloudy skies linger about the region this weekend, but temperatures will stay nice, ranging from seasonable to mild depending on the day.
Some showers will slide through the Northland Friday and Saturday, but the clouds give way to more sunshine and mild weather by Saturday evening.
Temperatures feel much more seasonable this weekend with some clouds and a bit of a breeze on both days this weekend.
We start October on a very windy note, thanks to a low pressure system located in southern Canada. Saturday kicks off with strong winds in the western Dakotas, moving to the eastern part of the tri-state region later in the day. The strong west wind could see some areas with gusts up to 50 mph in North Dakota.
The sunshine and well above average temperatures will coast into the final weekend of September. Saturday brings a near picture perfect day, with plenty of sunshine and light winds in the region. Sunday brings similar conditions in terms of sunshine for most of the day.
In less than 10 years, Wolverton, Minn., Pro Angler Tom Huynh went from buying his first boat to one of the hottest professional walleye anglers in the world and the 2024 National Walleye Tour Champion. How? Chad Koel gets the answer on this edition of the Northland Outdoors Podcast.
While some will stay warm for Saturday, much of the Northland is getting a taste of fall this weekend. Saturday we are tracking a cold front moving on through the region, which after bringing a chance for showers to northwest Minnesota Friday night, it will continue to bring rain chances further to the southeast on Saturday.
Wrapping up the week on Friday will bring a chance of rain for portions of the Northland. For Friday night, the best chance for rain will be across northern Minnesota into the Red River Valley as a cold front moves on through. By Saturday, the chances for rain across northern Minnesota dwindle down, however we could still see more showers popping up across central and southern Minnesota by Saturday afternoon.
