If I love right I'll live right. That may sound like an awfully big statement so let me take just a second and prove that this is true all throughout Scripture. What is the first and great commandment? It is to LOVE the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. What is the second greatest commandment? It is to LOVE others as we love our selves. Jesus said that everything else written in Scripture hangs on these two commandments (Matt 22:37-40). What Jesus meant by that last statement is that if we love as we are supposed to love, we will live as we are supposed to live. When I love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, I will do everything that God wants me to do and His commands will not be a burden (1 John 5:3). At the same time, if I love other people as I love myself, I will do everything that Scripture commands me to do for others, and I will refrain from doing to others what Scripture forbids. The immorality of Corinth had seeped into the church. Some of the Christians in Corinth had either reverted to the way they lived before they were saved, or some had not been saved at all. Paul's words here were meant to be a wakeup call for them. His goal is to remind them of what Jesus had done in their lives so they would turn back to Jesus. Despite saying that the unrighteous won't inherit the KoG, this passage is not a hopeless passage. In fact, this is an incredibly hopeful passage. In this passage we see that Jesus turns sinners into saints. How does this happen? Or perhaps a better question is, what do I do so that I can go from being a sinner to a saint?

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are supposed to be imitating Jesus Christ. We should imitate His actions, reactions, priorities, attitudes, and values. This is what the world around us expects to happen. They expect that if Jesus really is God who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, and rose again, then those who believe that will live like Jesus lived. The world expects believers to imitate Jesus. More importantly though, Jesus expects those who believe in Him to imitate Him.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we are supposed to be imitating Jesus Christ. We should imitate His actions, reactions, priorities, attitudes, and values.
