Every disciple of Jesus Christ is meant to be an intercessor. I'm convinced whatever else the Church of Jesus Christ is meant to be, it is meant to be an interceding Church. This message explains what an intercessor is, gives some ways to intercede, and explains why intercessory prayer is so important.

The kind of goodness the Holy Spirit produces in our lives actively causes us to be filled with moral excellence, kindness and consideration for others. It is an active virtue leading us to do good for others. This is true even if they don’t deserve it. It moves us to treat others in the way God would have us to treat them.

Kindness is an attitude making us gracious and considerate resulting in our doing what we can to help those in need. Biblically speaking, kindness doesn’t wait on needs to be brought to it. Instead kindness sees the need and then takes the initiative to do what is necessary to meet the need. The Holy Spirit works to make us kind.

When the Holy Spirit produces longsuffering in us we will patiently put up with other, or difficult, people, we will be slow to act out in anger, and we will persevere in our faithfulness and devotion to Jesus without giving up or giving in no matter what kind of opposition we face.
