Northside Bible Church

Pastor Stan gives us a glimpse into the defining attributes of a true disciple of Christ through the story of Mary Magdalene.

Today we'll be looking at one of the most dominant themes from the life of Christ and how the modern Church has become weak and soft in this particular area. In Pastor Stan's own words, this very well may be the most important message he has ever preached during his time at Northside.

Christians aren’t called to be stagnant and stationary; they should constantly be serving and moving. Unfortunately in life, it can be easy to get complacent in our daily routines and allow the beautiful reality of the Gospel to become old and stale. We slowly lose our passion for the concerns of Christ and can easily become distracted by or entangled in things that do not ultimately matter at all.

Listen as Pastor Stan helps us understand how we can (and should) break free from the rut and get moving!

As Christ-followers, we're called to make a difference in our culture. We know that's a little intimidating and can seem overwhelming at times. After all, the culture isn't exactly aligned with Christlike values. Today we're going to see not only how we're called to live, but how to practically implement it into our everyday lives as well!

Associate Pastor Cody Walker fills in for Pastor Stan and speaks about how we can boldly return to our first love as believers in Christ.

True worship requires us to focus our attention, affection and allegiance on Christ. So what does that look like and how can we do it?

What distracts you from focusing on Christ and the Gospel? If we’re all being honest, life can be overwhelming, frustrating, and downright discouraging. In the midst of the rat race, it’s easy to lose sight of what matters most or — in the words of the angel of the Lord to the Church at Ephesus — to “abandon our first love.”

As we enter 2020, Pastor Stan will be calling us to return to our passion and zeal for the Gospel, the same intensity and enthusiasm that captured our hearts when we were first saved.
