NICEVILLE — A teen wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a Panama City man on Saturday has been located in Georgia.According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Richard Grice was found in the Atlanta area Sunday night and taken into custody. Details of his capture are not yet available, the OCSO said.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is working to locate two 17-year-old teens.

SHALIMAR—A 39-year-old man was arrested on Christmas Day after he used a hatchet to destroy a bathroom door and attempted to attack a family in a 7th Avenue home. During a verbal altercation that turned physical, Jason Edward Godwin attempted to use a small black hatchet to gain entry into a bathroom where three family members were hiding. The reported disturbance began after a phone call between Godwin and one of the family members according to an arrest report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

“All I thought was going to happen is it would be in the newspaper (and maybe) bring the town closer together,” she said. “So when they see a homeless person, they would think about it before they just drive off.”

FORT WALTON BEACH — Aramis Garcia was sentenced to three life terms in prison Thursday after being convicted of killing Coty Michael Bradley and attempting to kill two others.

A jury deliberated for about two hours before delivering verdicts of guilty on one count of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Circuit Judge William Stone pronounced sentence immediately after the verdicts were read.

Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office located the individual and shots were fired. As of 1:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office could not confirm who was shot or their condition. The second shooting took place at or near the Timberlake Pond Recreation Area, which is at Lewis-Turner Boulevard and Timberlake Road. According to OCSO Major Ken LaPee, the FWB police put out a request for assistance in locating the suspect. LaPee is the investigation’s bureau chief.

A Milton man was captured Monday after stealing a car from the Santa Rosa Mall, leading deputies on a low speed pursuit, and crashing into a yard.He faces nine separate charges, according to a press release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
