The Walton County Sheriff’s Office released additional details about the Nov. 26 arrest of a Crestview woman for inflicting pain and suffering on two dogs in her care.

A military wife thought she was buying a Baby Einstein’s bouncer, but she was surprised to find something else in the box.Veronica Alverez-Rodriquez said she was heading to a baby shower Sunday when she stopped at the Goodwill store in Valparaiso.“It was like the perfect gift for the baby shower,” Alvarez- Rodriquez said.She said the bouncer was a really good price for an unopened bouncer. Alvarez-Rodriquez bought the gift for $9.99.After purchasing the gift, they went to the shower. Alvarez-Rodriquez said when the father-to-be opened the box, he was so excited.He shouted, “you guys got me a gun.”

A fight over a gun at a Fort Walton Beach home ended tragically Saturday with the death of 18-year-old Nate Richards.Richards and Dewayne White were involved in an argument at a 306 Watson Drive residence that “turned violent” and resulted in both men being shot, a news release from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department said. Police were called to the home at 11:38 p.m. and found White, 38, had been shot once and Richards three times.

One man died and another was injured after a Saturday night shooting.According to a press release from city spokesman Doug Rainer, officers with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at a home on Watson Drive at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
