FORT WALTON BEACH — The Fort Walton Beach Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on Ashley Lane Tuesday night.

Multiple people were reportedly involved in the 6 p.m. shooting, according to call history records. A white Chevrolet Impala and a silver Buick are suspected to be connected to the incident.

The suspects, however, fled the area with their weapons before officers arrived.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob John spoke to members of the media following a double stabbing in Gulf Breeze. The suspect, Erich Reitz, a former Niceville POlice officer is believed to have stabbed both of his parents before being shot multiple times during the altercation.
