Building owner Vince Bruner said since opening in the 1950s, the station has bounced several times between the ownership of two competitors — Greyhound and Trailways. Greyhound took the building back over in the early 2000s, he said.

The incident took place at Brick a Brac, 824 U.S. Highway 98, at about 4:18 a.m. Sunday, according to a release.

Deputies were called to the club around closing time after a disturbance broke out and multiple shots were fired outside the building. Law enforcement set up a perimeter and brought in a K9 unit to help with tracking.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, the inmate was taken outside the prison for treatment of injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate the inmate was taken by medical helicopter to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center at around 9:30 a.m. He was then waiting to be flown to another hospital.

Seven headless chickens were found Tuesday at Jesse Rogers Cemetery on U.S. Highway 98.

eFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 23-year-old man was arrested on 12 charges, 10 of them felonies, after he allegedly head-butted a Walton County sheriff's deputy Saturday.

According to an arrest report, deputies were searching for Jerel Lamar Davis on Lee Street about 10 p.m. after DeFuniak Springs police said Davis was allegedly involved in two vehicle thefts and car burglaries.

A deputy located the stolen vehicle reported by the DeFuniak Springs police a few miles from a disabled white Ford pickup truck reported stolen by the truck's owner, which Davis allegedly stole.

Jeremy Utter, part of the True Blue shark fishing team, reels in a great white shark Tuesday at the Navarre Beach Pier. It was the first great white shark caught from the pier. Once landed, the shark was tagged for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Apex Predator Program and released back into the Gulf of Mexico.
