DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — A Mexican restaurant was closed down for at least two days after health inspectors found live and dead roaches and rodent droppings in the dining room, as well as exposed toxic chemicals and improperly stored food.

The Crestview chief of police has been placed on administrative leave pending a review of city employee regulations and department policies and protocols, according to a press release from the mayor’s office.

Crestview Mayor David Cadle said Wednesday he ordered the leave for the duration of the review period, which he hoped would be wrapped up as quickly as possible.
