Sgt. Rich Aloy, spokesman for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies had been responding to a possible suspicious person call on Bright Water Drive on Tuesday when the call was upgraded en route due to the individual breaking into a home.

MILTON — A 61-year-old man was arrested after letting a dog repeatedly attack a cat in his backyard until the cat died.

Lonnie Earl Rachal, of 6475 Bass Lane, was arrested March 24 and charged with animal cruelty after the incident that occurred Oct. 27, 2017, according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
