[[C&C] Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival brings high art to low-key venues

The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival returns this month. As always, each week of the festival follows an arc: On the first evening, the audience gets to know a musician or musical group. On the second evening, people learn about a single piece of music and how it’s put together.

Jamey Lamar [Luh-MAHR] is the festival’s executive director. Lamar [Luh-MAHR] says, when it comes to music, people want to know how the sausage is made:

[[INTRO]] In the early 19th century, John Jacob Astor sent two expeditions west to settle at the mouth of the Columbia River. One expedition followed the new Lewis & Clark trail, and was plagued by starvation.
