Legislators have wrapped up their short, 60-day session in Olympia in which they passed a historic income tax bill and a number of measures in response to the Trump administration. They also made adjustments to the state’s $80-billion dollar budget that they say was hobbled by federal cuts, inflation and rising costs from lawsuits against the state.

Washington state is moving closer to having it's first income tax.

Washington lawmakers have approved the "millionaire's tax".... it would tax incomes *over* one million dollars at nearly 10%.
