Washington state is moving closer to having it's first income tax.

Washington lawmakers have approved the "millionaire's tax".... it would tax incomes *over* one million dollars at nearly 10%.

KNKX got reactions from residents in downtown Seattle [THURSDAY]. Most say they support the tax … others worry it might have unintended consequences.

Healthcare providers in Seattle are preparing for more people to come down with the measles ahead of the World Cup.

According to Visit Seattle, around 750,000 people are expected to visit the Puget Sound region for six soccer matches held at Lumen Field in June.

The state Senate gave final legislative approval late Wednesday to a bill that would establish the first income tax in Washington's history.

With a few shouts of “hell yeah” and “yes please,” the state House voted earlier this week [Tuesday night] to establish “an income tax on millionaires.” The Senate agreed late Wednesday to final changes. It goes next to the governor.

Representative Brianna Thomas, a Democrat from West Seattle, said with a *nonstop day of debate the House showed its fight.
