A modest, two-acre farm off of I-5 near Salem aims to save the planet. Elderberry Wisdom Farms launched in 2018, and is the creation of Rose High Bear. The 81-year-old Alaskan Native trains interns on urban forestry and Indigenous conservation practices. But as KLCC’s Brian Bull reports, funding challenges make its future uncertain.

It’s primary election day in Washington state. And as Elena Neale-Sacks reports, one of the most hotly contested races for Congress is playing out in Southwest Washington.

After a controversial board vote to defer funding earlier this spring, Sound Transit released a long-awaited road map for getting light rail to Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.

Light rail was originally supposed to come to Ballard in 2035.

Sound Transit now says it can get there in 2042. But that’s if the agency finds money for it soon. If not? Residents of the Seattle neighborhood could be stuck waiting for the train until 2060.
