The water tower on top of the Centennial Mills warehouse in northwest Portland was removed in a controlled explosion today ((MONDAY)). The building is undergoing demolition after a fire on August 2nd rendered it unstable. OPB’s Riley Martinez reports.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson paused expansion of police surveillance cameras after taking office because of concerns about privacy and civil liberties. But a new poll conducted in the wake of the shooting at Seattle Center last month found that nearly three-quarters of Seattle voters support expanding the city’s camera network.

A new poll found that a large majority of Seattle voters have concerns about the mayor’s plan for public safety… and are in support of expanding police surveillance cameras.
