Oregon’s only UNESCO biosphere reserve, Cascade Head, celebrated its 50th anniversary July 18th.

The milestone came as more than a dozen US biospheres have folded after cuts by the Trump administration.

But as Kristian Foden-Vencil reports, Cascade Head appears to be thriving despite a lack of money.

Federal authorities are investigating a Kenmore Air seaplane crash in the San Juan Islands.

Despite a harrowing and tense battle against the Akawa ((AH-kwah)) Butte Fire, some downtown businesses in the town of Sisters are still open and tourists are out and about. Kathryn Styer Martínez reports.
