This year, Thing NW [northwest] went from a weekend music festival to four single-day lineups in August. Each one with its own style and vibe. But organizers say they were forced to cancel the Latin-music themed day due to immigration concerns. KUOW’s Monica Nickelsburg has more.

This coming weekend, Thing NW [northwest] had planned to hold its first-ever Latin music event. But organizers say they had to pull the plug.

Oregonians out in the woods are being asked to be especially careful not to spark a wildfire over the next few days as temperatures spike.

As temperatures are likely to climb into the triple digits around Oregon, counties are opening cooling centers and even declaring a state of emergency.

Multnomah County declared an emergency today ((MON)) because temperatures aren’t expected to cool substantially overnight. It opened three daytime cooling centers saying no one will be turned away and pets are welcome.

Washington Representative Emily Randall has announced new legislation to counter the Trump Administration’s efforts to scrub diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives from public lands and historic sites.
