With wildfire season looming, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden says he’s working to get more support for firefighters.

Washington state lawmakers did not include money that was requested for the Washington State Library in the next state budget.

That, along with federal cuts, means the library may have to lay off staff.

According to a police affidavit, the man who crashed his car at Amazon Park last month, killing a Eugene woman, had a blood-alcohol level nearly 3 times the legal limit. [KLCC’s Rachael McDonald reports.][soq :47]
