For 20 years Northwest String Summit has been a mainstay in the festival scene of the Pacific Northwest. Yonder Mountain String Band started the festival all those years ago and saw fit to move it here to Horning's Hideout. In the years that followed many now famous (and infamous) bluegrass acts cut their teeth at this festival and year after year fans came back for more creating a tight knit community.

This week on No Simple Road we begin our journey at Northwest String Summit 2022. This being the last year of the festival we wanted to focus less on the bands and more on the community, the stories, the people that have worked hard to create the scene so many of us enjoy. It's our hope that as you listen to this week's episode you'll feel all the feelings along with us as we embark on this bittersweet 4 day run.

We've got some of the amazing music with a little commentary by yours truly, an interview with Tom Nechville who has revolutionized the banjo, Patrick Connell of the Oregon Bluegrass Association, and a bunch of silly and extremely sweet moments with the NSR/Strummit Family and beyond!
