MLS Armchair Analyst Matt Doyle returns for what will be a regular feature talking about the Western Conference. This week, he and Jeremiah play a little game of “Choose your own adventure” to discuss the Week 1 results. He’s a lot less high on the LA Galaxy than he used to be but still think the Sounders and LAFC are going to be near the top.
You can read Matt Doyle every week at MLSsoccer.com, watch his tactical videos on Bluesky and subscribe his new “Tactics Free Zone” newsletter.

We’re back with another episode of “What we learned this week w/Niko.” Jeremiah and Niko Moreno discuss the implications of Wedensday’s 3-1 win and how that allows the Sounders to rotate a bit more purposefully for Saturday. They also discuss Brian Schmetzer’s comments about the Nicolás Lodeiro situation.

Jeremiah and Aaron treat February’s mailbag episode a bit like a preview of the season. With that in mind, they pick about a dozen items to give their over/under prediction on. They, of course, answer a bunch of questions on subjects like our breakout candidates, the next candidate for sale and which position they might target for a U22 signing.

We’re back with another episode of ‘What we learned this week with Niko.’ There weren’t so much new learnings as there were lots of bolstering of previously held opinions. The biggest is that Pedro de la Vega looked really, really good. He had two goals in this game and helped create another. This is a player who seems to be looking to prove a point.

We’re back with another episode of “What we learned this week” with Niko Moreno. In addition to discussing Wednesday’s preseason games and taking an early look at the depth chart, Niko shares that there’s at least a possibility that Nico Lodeiro could be available and potentially return to the Sounders.

We’re trying something a bit different today. Fresh off the news that ETR has been put on some sort of potentially permanent hiatus, Armchair Analyst Matt Doyle joins the show to go through the entire Western Conference’s offseason so far. Spoiler alert: He really likes what the Sounders have done but isn’t quite as down at the LA Galaxy as we’d like him to be.

Look, it may have only been a preseason game — the first one of the year at that — but Pedro de la Vega was every bit as good as you could have hoped in the Sounders’ 2-0 win over Puskás Akadémia on Thursday. Niko Moreno joins Jeremiah Oshan to discuss the game as well as the other news of the week.

Tim Foss and Niko Moreno join Jeremiah for what is hopefully going to be a new regular feature: Post training round-table discussions. On this episode, they discuss the first week of preseason, who they were impressed by and what they thought of Jésus Ferreira’s earlier-than-expected arrival.

Jeremiah and Aaron are back with another mailbag episode. Among the questions they tackle is how the Sounders should prioritize various trophies; assessments of their offseason; and the impact of when the Sounders sell Obed Vargas.

The Sounders held their first official day of preseason training on Monday and while they didn’t do much, we did get a chance to get to know a bit more about Paul Arriola, who officially joined the team earlier in the day after a trade with FC Dallas. The veteran midfielder seemed thrilled to be here and excited to start competing for trophies. Jeremiah gives a quick overview of what happened and what we should expect this preseason.
