  • The Final Again!

This should give you an idea of how this episode is going to go…

It is the last episode of Season 2 and yes, you guessed it, we hate Valentine’s Day. Not for the reason you think, neither Natalia nor I is single, screaming Adele songs at my cat. I mean, you have been introduced to my cat and she does plenty of screaming on her own so no extra screaming needed.

No, we hate Valentines for different reasons. And, you’re going to hear all of them!

We are in the food industry and for years we had to endure Valentine’s dinners at the restaurant. Although, those nights are cash cows, it’s never really worth the stress. V-Day diners are typically the ones who never go out and are only out now because it’s “expected”. Honestly, we’re trying to give you all the leftover food that we haven’t been able to sell and the same goes for the alcohol. Mediocre at best and we are going to charge you A LOT for it. Actually, we’re mainly charging you for the pain we have to go through to deal with all the people who have no clue how to behave when they’re out in public.

Does that set the stage for you? We are definitely ending on a crazy note with this episode. We cover everything from sexy food, aphrodisiacs (not the same as sexy food) and weird bedroom games. In the end, we would just like you to treat every day like it’s Valentine’s Day. Do you really need a special day to let your person know you love him/her? We sure hope not!

Buckle up buttercup, here comes the final episode. Happy Valentine’s Day!?

So, that’s it guys. Thanks for hanging in with us for Season 2. We all made it together and hopefully, mostly stress-free. If we gave you a few laughs along the way, good! That was our plan. Don’t take yourselves too seriously and have fun. Life is short so we’re okay with you eating dessert first.

We’re going to take a break for a few weeks but we’ll check back in here and there so be sure to follow us on Instagram (@notasinglefork) and Twitter (@notasinglefork1) and we’ll keep you updated on what we’re up to. Also, check out our Facebook Lives from the kitchen! We’ve got lots of classes coming up so you won’t want to miss that craziness.

In the meantime, you can catch up on Season 1 and 2, our episodes are evergreen so you can listen and listen again. Please subscribe, download, and review us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher and Google Play. And, we love to hear from you, so comment below…all those things! They mean so much to us but not as much as you!

Thanks for listening! We’ll be back soon with Season 3 and trips to the farmer’s markets plus interviews!

    WE LOVE YOU!

Betcha thought you’d been seeing hats and horns and champagne glasses clinking, right? Nope, we get right down to the food, surprise!

  • Season 2, Episode 9 - Happy New Year!
It’s not easy to write the opening for a new year. So much has already been said at this point so let’s just barrel through and get this party started…Happy 2020!
Did you have a fun-filled and boisterous ball drop or do you prefer the solitude of quietly bringing in the New Year with a champagne toast followed quickly by bedtime? We’ve been there and done that (got the tee-shirt multiple times) whole “let’s have a rip-roaring NYE party” thing. After years in the food industry, we know it’s just another Amateur Night where the food is mediocre and super expensive, the entertainment is usually similar (I mean, how many times can you listen to IJ Ganem and his band?) and the party is the same party you’ve attended for the past 5 to 10 years.
We opt for the quiet version with friends and doing our own “thang”. and we do let you in on the exciting lives of podcasters. Of course, we tell you all about it in this episode.

  • Just For Fun On Christmas Eve
We’re running a little behind getting the podcast episode finished up but it is Christmas Eve!
This is an especially fun episode for us because both of my daughters are in the house and join in to share their favorite holiday foods, traditions, and memories.
We’re an unusually raucous bunch but we hope you have as much fun hearing about warm toasted nuts with KC Lupp on FOX23’s Great Day Green Country (RIP that super fun show), figuring out whose talking, me or my older daughter, and all the suggestions for what to do at this very late date.
So pour yourself an egg nog (spiked, please!), finish your Christmas wrapping and cozy up to our final episode of 2019.
Thanks again to our faithful followers, Brenda and Tiffany, who are always quick to share their comments and, in this case, Christmas traditions. We’d love to hear from more of you so bring it on!!
    As always, thanks for listening!
Please subscribe, download, review, comment…all those things! They mean so much to us but not as much as you!
    HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
    SEE YOU IN 2020.

  • Traditions, Traditions
It’s all about how you like to celebrate.
It’s nearly “go time” so we thought instead of regaling you with more checklists and countdowns, we would share personal traditions and how we like to spend the holiday…having fun and making memories.
In this episode, we find the origin of the Christmas tree tradition (and burning of the house), the foods people eat all over the world during the holiday season with lots of other crazy stuff thrown in and we take a brief visit through Hanukkah as well as Natalia’s Serbian Christmas (actually, her visit isn’t so brief). You’ll hear about what made our holidays special in the past and give you some ideas of what you could do in the present. We’d also like to hear what your favorite holidays traditions are because there are lots of things to do besides gift giving.
So, we’re going to get right to it with Traditions, Traditions, Season 2, Episode 7.
Hope you like this episode including the Rants and Raves. It’s okay if you like matching holiday PJs.
    As always, thanks for listening!
Please subscribe, download, review, comment…all those things! They mean so much to us but not as much as you!
There’s one more episode before Christmas so stay tuned and you’ll meet another member of the family!
