SRS - Social Responsiveness Scale is a tool used to assess social skills and behaviors in autistic children and adolescents. It measures various aspects of social behavior, including communication, interaction, and repetitive behaviors, through questions answered by parents, teachers, or caregivers.
AQ - Autism Quotient is a questionnaire used to measure autistic traits in adults. It assesses social skills, communication, imagination, and attention to detail. Individuals answer questions based on their experiences
NP - Nurse practitioner is a registered nurse (RN) with advanced training and education, allowing them to provide a wide range of healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing overall patient care. They often work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals.

ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition that brings unique strengths and challenges. People with ADHD may have difficulty with attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity, but they also often possess creativity, energy, and a unique way of thinking.
HSP- Highly Sensitive Person is someone with a heightened ability to perceive and process stimuli from their environment. They experience emotions deeply and can be easily overwhelmed by sensory input, emotions, and social interactions. HSPs often possess strengths such as empathy, creativity, and intuition, contributing valuable perspectives to our diverse society.
Proprio / Proprioceptive - refers to the sense that helps you know where your body parts are and how they are moving, even without looking. It’s like an internal GPS for your body.
Interoceptive - refers to the sense that helps you understand and feel internal bodily sensations, like hunger, thirst, heartbeat, or the need to use the bathroom. It's how you sense what's happening inside your body.
Executive function - refers to a set of mental skills that help you manage and control your behavior. These include planning, focusing attention, remembering instructions, and juggling multiple tasks
Heavy work - refers to activities that involve pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying objects. These activities help regulate and calm the body's sensory system, often used in sensory integration therapy.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It's a type of talk therapy that helps people change negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve their mental health.
GeneSight - is a genetic test that helps personalize medication selection for mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. It analyzes an individual's genetic makeup to predict how they may respond to psychiatric medications, aiming to improve treatment outcomes by guiding more informed medication choices based on their genetic profile.
