Not Again Podcast

Siraj just got married and I ask about getting married and planning a wedding. He explains what does the ritual of a wedding signify to their family and the difference before and after marriage. Siraj tells me how his family is so close knitted and how he got booed and heckled on his first gig. He talks about doing other forms of arts such as spoken word. After finding out that he volunteers and doing community work, we discuss about our views on charity and how we try to serve the community.

I talked about Chinese New Year in Singapore and how I hangout with people in reunion dinner and festive seasons. I recollect about getting an interview with Dr Chee Soon Juan. I think out loud about seeking controversy for the sake of getting coverage for the podcast. I also gave my view of National Service in the light of Aloysius Pang's death which is most likely a dumb view to have.

Being the most controversial man in Singapore, Dr Chee Soon Juan tells me how he got from a student scrapping by to pass to become the straight A's student in the university that he studied in. He shares the culture shock when it comes to education in Singapore and United States. We also talk about his research in Psychology which he did in School. Dr Chee explains to me about why he doesn't want to apply change "within the system" because how the days in his university shape the way he does things in his life. We discuss about working onto our goals and what happens if we lose our way and being comfortable in our own skin even after all that setbacks and obstacle in life that life has thrown you. Lastly, I asked him about if there is anything that he agrees with current ruling had done.

For this week's The Wednesday Thing, I reminisced the time when I was younger watching cartoons. There is a story that a taxi driver had told me. I talked about having comedians coming from other countries and managed to talk to hang out with them. I also talked about the meet up with podcast community and having so many things online. I share the start of the podcast and why I ended it. I also shared the news of RuPaul Drag Race being mentioned in the Singapore Parliament.

When we are explaining how Siao Char Bor came about, We talk about offensive comedy or controversial comedy and how is it being a female comic can be difficult in the comedy world. Steph and Marie make their points about what is it like to be a minority comedy and about having a relationship with the audience. While we are discussing about the freedom of speech about artist and explain the reason I am tired of some comedy mostly coming from the minority group in the community, Steph do a take on the business stand in the industry.

I am taking a dive to the vault and look for an old episode. Here goes.

Gary talks to Inch Chua in this episode of #YourJobSucks: Singer/Songwriter. They talk about their favourite rom-com, Inch's wikipedia page and Limp Bizkit. They discuss about the previous bands that Inch was in, reasons why she loves Foo Fighters and the how she presents her songs live.

P.s Gary, the title of the song you tried to name is "Home Sweet Home/Bittersweet Symphony" by Limp Bizkit. The title of the movie that stars "J.Lo is What to expect when you are expecting". I am just as surprise as you guys are that Gary didn't get the movie is bad when he reads the title.

Bill Poorman, a former employee for NPR affiliate and I both share our love for coffee. Bill talked about what is like to work as NPR affiliate and the difference between news from NPR and TV News. We discuss the ethics of journalism, what is the idea to the journalism and the search of truth. We also have come to a conclusion of having a label as what political party affiliation had affected us psychologically.
