• How he went from tallying up electoral votes in his living room to reporting from the White House
• His experiences training journalism professionals in countries that do not yet value free journalism
• The story of a soldiers death at a base and the investigative journalism that found the true cause.
• How to find cheap flight (always a favorite topic of mine)
• How to do better with shaping your own media. This is where he shares his new career as CEO of Media Mastery Experts.

We are back this week with the second and final part of my conversation with Aliya Kasabian who at 16 years old found herself living a nightmare when she was sent to Boise Girl's Academy a place many describe as a cult and even more people accused of preying on girls in the "troubled teen" system. In our concluding conversation we cover:

• Why her parents thought they were "giving her a gift" by sending her there and why they did not pick her up despite her pleas
• The PTSD she suffered and still deals with because of her time in Boise
• Picking up the pieces and what she did after leaving at 17 years old
• Her budding career as a tattoo artist.

What is the Boise Girl's Academy and why do so many places across the nation continue to profit off of "troubled teens"? This week I speak with Aliya Kasabian who at 16 years old found herself trapped in this place. We cover:

• The nightmare of being kidnapped in the middle of the night to go to Boise
• The bizarre rules that seem counterproductive to the mission of helping these young women
• The truly heart-breaking punishments girls faced when rules were not followed
• Why her parents thought they were "giving her a gift" by sending her there

This is part one and next week we pick up where we leave off and then talk about leaving the program, the PTSD still suffered, and what she is doing these days.

This week we talk all things staring in scary movies with someone with ONE of the CRAZY scary movie scenes I have ever seen. Charlotte is an actor based in Toronto, Ontario. She moved to New York to begin her career at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where she completed the Three Year Conservatory. After graduating, she continued working in theatre as well as sketch comedy and film. Charlotte and her sketch troupe ‘Cheap Wine’ won the Best Newcomer award in the ‘Sketch to the Death’ competition at The Social Capital Theatre. Charlotte has been busy and is in two feature films in the last year- Lina Rodriguez’s So Much Tenderness (TIFF 2022) where she plays Annabel and the one we focus one Chris Nash’s In a Violent Nature (to be released on Amazon Prime Studio’s Shudder) as Aurora.

For Dariann Leigh, this is so much more than country music. From her one-stop town in Karlstad, Minnesota (population 713), Dariann captured the star power of the original women of country music. From lyrics bleeding through static-filled radios and scratched CDs. Dariann Leigh doesn’t just want to make music, she wants to write the soundtrack for hairbrush singers, dashboard drummers and air guitar players everywhere. Dariann has been featured on The Boot, CMT, and more with her previous single's "Closer", "Let Me Go", "10,000 miles", and most recently with her new single "Leave".

As a kid,” Says Leigh, “I remember closing my eyes, plugging my headphones in and listening to tracks that ended up being the theme songs to my daydreams. I want to be that artist for someone else.”

The inventor of Bop It is BACK! This time to share, SLING IT, a new backyard game he created and is rolling out on his own. We tie up some lose ends of questions about the legendary game that is Bop It that I had since we talked about 18 months ago. But, we spend most of this chat talking about the new game from inspiration, to the mechanics of it, to his plan to share it with everyone very soon. In this chat we dive much deeper than normal into one specific thing (this time the Sling It game), but it provides a great look at how the games we know and love happen from start to finish.
