Trevor, Simon & Alex take on the subject of Airline redundancy and how its not the end, but the beginning. It is a very real fear that happening to cabin crew all over the world. There isn't one part of the globe that hasn't been touched by Covid-19. Even both the North & South poles who have not had one case, still face a travel ban.
Travel has been one of the hardest hit both business and leisure. One of the main reasons this pandemic is different is because of its far reach. When airlines faced 9/11, many could shift their operations to other markets, such as the Far East or Africa. Similarly when the Far East was hit with Sars. or Africa faced Ebola, Many airline increased their traffic to the US hotspots, NYC, San Francisco & Florida. Also many airline were increasing and upgrading their fleets & destinations. Of course the real shock for all of us was the announcements from airlines that thousands of all airline staff including cabin crew.
