Not Movies

Welcome to Not Movies Phase III!

First of all, yes, we know Mingle All The Way is already a movie a movie from 2018 about an app. What were we going to do, look it up beforehand?

Ours is a charming little Nicole Byer vehicle. She works at a Christmas party supply store two months out of the year (living off her OnlyFans income the rest of the year) and engages in a vague and madcap love triangle with Vin Diesel and Adam Driver. Tim Cook plays a fedora-wearing CEO and SOMEBODY PUT LAXATIVES IN THE CHAMPAGNE!

Wow, it's been almost a year, huh? Whoops! Sorry about that (though really, you should have emailed us, so part of this is on you). We didn't try to write a story this time, just had a little NM family catch-up and a chat about the Fast & Furious franchise.

We'll be back with another ridiculous movie idea and some even more exciting life updates in fewer than nine months next time.

Also, just a small disclaimer: this was recorded before the Russian invasion of Ukraine so when we mention Russia in the episode, we aren't thinking in that context. In all seriousness, war is atrocious, almost never justified, and needs to end.

Imagine being able to time travel but only forward and only to times you don't want to go to (Jury duty, the dentist, etc.)... doesn't sound like that great of a movie, right? BUT, throw in a coven of witches and pit them against a host of Crystalline extraterrestrials and now we've got ourselves a Not Movie!

Thanks again to Jackee and Justin Morgan for helping us mash this one together!

It's the early 1900s and the Mason Brothers, Jason and Jerson make a deal with the Devil to become virtuosos on spoons and vocals, respectively. Naturally, they take their act on tour and dazzle audience across America's heartland. It all goes well until it doesn't. Hilarity ensues.

Thank you to Jackee Morgan and Justin Morgan for bringing this one to life!

Check out the other seven (!!) Not Movies Jackee has done and don't follow her anywhere else :)

Kyle and Zach of Brunch, Houseboat and Kyle Moucha Won't Shut Up are back! Sorry this episode took forever to release but I think it was worth the wait...definitely some of our best stuff in here. And yes, that is a man made of cheese on the poster. It's actually a whole art form. Just google 'cheese sculpture' to find more. You're welcome.

We cast Kurt Russell (Tango & Cash, Jiminy Glick in Lalawood) and Tony Danza (The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon, Taxi) in a tale of a professor on a mission to create a healthy cheese. It doesn't go great for him.

Stay tuned after the show to hear Brunch's 2020 wrap-up song and read the lyrics here!

Kyle and Zach of Brunch, The Houseboat and Kyle Moucha Won't Shut Up join us this week for a chat about movies, music, and life, and we write a Wes Anderson-inspired Space Epic!

Allert, Bill, Cap, Dottie and ELI the Electronic Life Improver team up with legendary kid troublemaker Freddy for a bit of Space Piracy but end up making amends for all their previous nefarious deeds and saving some refugees!

Kyle also starts a beef.

Some people would do anything to have a second shot at life... a different perspective... one more chance to do things differently. This is a story about a few of those people.

It's the body-swapping time-travel adventure you never knew you needed brought to you by the Not Movies crew and @TheRealStephRaj! We also talk about the sitcoms we identify with and Steph tells a wonderfully entertaining story about her brother (and friend of the show) Matt!

SCIENCE SAYS We all need to be afraid

SCIENCE SAYS We need to give up our freedoms

THE CDC SAYS it's NOT going to magically go away

but oh wait, all of a sudden they've found the VACCINE??

How convenient...

Oh yeah, and there's just one side effect: you'll lose ALL YOUR HAIR.... Well Harvey (played by holographic Jim Varney) and his luscious locks aren't buying it. He has a feeling his sister (holographic Carrie Fisher) and her lifelong jealous streak might be targeting him again.

We welcome back our very first guest Andrew Lowy, talk about what he's been up to and recommend some stellar movies including Uncut Gems, Rockadoodle, and Velocipastor.
