NOT WELL / GAY PODCAST / EPISODE 186
Remember last episode when we were going to go out and "get in trouble" - well we did and you won't believe what happened.
On the episode of Not Well, we talk about idiot Republicans, Harry Potter, gross YouTube podcasters, conservative people, fat alcohol syndrome, and being fat in general.
Some Highlights (or lowlights)
Marjorie Taylor Greene made a State of the Union stunt, carrying a white balloon in reference to Republican criticism of Joe Biden's handling of a Chinese surveillance balloon. However, the balloon saga ended when it was shot down off the Carolinas on Saturday.
The phenomenon of "sick zoning" is when a partner takes care of their sick significant other, resulting in the partner being seen as weak and unappealing. This dynamic can create a caregiver and dependent relationship, where the partner who is not sick takes on a more nurturing role. The caregiver may become preoccupied with the sick partner's well-being and only see them as someone who needs help, rather than an equal partner. This can lead to a loss of attraction and desire, as well as a lack of emotional and physical intimacy in the relationship.
Allie Beth Stuckey is a conservative commentator, author, and podcaster who aims to help young women think critically and biblically about the world around them. She is known for her book "You're Not Enough (& That's Okay): Escaping the Toxic Culture of Self-Love," which challenges society's popular cultural myths and offers truthful alternatives found in the Bible. Stuckey started her career in 2016 with a Facebook page called "The Conservative Millennial" and has since contributed to various media outlets, including Fox News and BlazeTV. She currently hosts the podcast "Relatable," where she analyzes culture, news, politics, and theology from a Christian, conservative perspective.
Several thousand gay men set off on a week-long vacation cruise, organized by Atlantis Events on the Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas ship, through the Caribbean. The cruise promised guests a week of social mixers, late-night dance parties, and performances from entertainers like Todrick Hall and Billy Porter. The trip can be an annual pilgrimage for many gay men who want to unwind in a fun and sexually liberated setting with members of their community. However, guests were warned about a new policy that prohibited them from posting anything sexually explicit on social media, or risk being asked to leave the ship without a refund. The policy was created by Atlantis Events and Royal Caribbean following previous incidents where explicit videos filmed by passengers went viral.
Our upcoming shows, which will be taped in Park City, promise to be full of fun guests, interesting ideas, and overall craziness that will leave you entertained and informed. So stay tuned, and get ready to join us for an adventure you won't forget!

On this episode of Not, Well, Bobby and Jim dive into the hot-button issue of police shootings and question whether it's more of a cop problem than a race problem. With the endless stream of incidents making headlines, the guys can't help but wonder who is becoming cops and what is causing this apparent surge in excessive force. With their signature wit and humor, Bobby and Jim will have you laughing and thinking at the same time, as they tackle this important and timely topic. So sit back, grab a glass of wine (or a can of Pringles), and join the hilarious and thought-provoking conversation on this latest episode of Not, Well.
Additionally, Bobby and Jim delve into this hilarious yet concerning situation, questioning why this woman felt comfortable drinking wine from a Pringles can in the middle of a Walmart parking lot. They humorously ponder the idea of being banned from Walmart for drinking on the job. The guys also discuss the strange phenomenon of people drinking in public places
Recently, the news about the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down by a U.S. fighter jet off the coast of South Carolina had everyone talking. The comical take on the situation was no exception, as late-night comedians, such as Chelsea Handler and Seth Meyers, along with Jimmy Fallon and James Corden, all had a field day with the situation. Bobby and Jim also joined in on the fun, poking humor at the balloon incident. Not as funny as those late night comedians.
Comedians and late-night talk show hosts have had a field day with the recent news of the Chinese spy balloon that was shot down by a US fighter jet off the coast of South Carolina. Chelsea Handler kicked off her week hosting "The Daily Show" with a series of jokes about the incident. She quipped about President Biden, saying "Obama got to order the assassination of bin Laden, and all he gets to do is murder a bag of helium." and "And, as you heard, this balloon was the size of three buses. I love measuring things in buses." Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, and James Corden also weighed in with their own witty comments about the balloon, with Meyers saying "The only way this balloon could have had a higher profile is if it had its own Instagram account." and Fallon jokingly saying "The balloon floated from Montana to South Carolina. Somehow it got across the country faster than someone flying Southwest." These comedians have certainly found a way to bring humor to a strange and unexpected situation.
We also talk about Bobby having a nervous breakdown that actually ended up being therapeutic, even though his therapist thinks he should be at a psychiatrist sooner rather than later. Bobby is also talking about his spending habits lately. He can't pass up a deal but he has to start...
Jim hates pleated pants and can't understand why people are wearing them again. Bobby then admits his secret fantasy about white underwear and business suits.

Episode #184 of Not Well - "The Fat Man's Little Coat of Emotions: Coping with Mental Health, Relationships, Bad Bosses, and Church Struggles"
Bobby starts off the episode by talking about a friend's untimely death and the importance of mental health. He touches on the recently established suicide hotline 988 and the need for people to reach out when they are struggling. Bobby emphasizes the importance of taking care of one's mental health, and how it can be difficult to do so amidst life's challenges. Of course this is done in the only way Bobby and Jim know, with a flair of humor but also being serious.
Next, Bobby and his Jim delve into the recent news of a church in Jacksonville requiring its members to sign documents stating they are not homosexual and they denounce anything related to the LGBT community. They discuss the negative impact this can have on individuals and the importance of accepting people for who they are.
The conversation then shifts to the recent FDA approval for gay men to give blood, and the differences between gay and straight people. Bobby and his Jim examine the nuances of this issue and the importance of understanding and accepting people for their individual differences.
Later in the episode, Bobby's cousin Heather comes into town and the topic of bosses is brought up. They talk about the variety of boss personalities and the impact they can have on the workplace. Bobby and his co-host share their own experiences with good and bad bosses and how they have navigated these relationships.
The episode ends with a wrap-up of the different topics covered, tying them together with the overarching theme of mental health and acceptance. Throughout the episode, the keywords "Not Well," "Gay Podcast," and "LGBT" are emphasized, giving listeners a comprehensive and inclusive view of the various issues affecting the gay community. In this episode of "Not Well" with Bobby & Jim, Jim brings up the topic of judging others and feeling uncomfortable with certain things. He mentions feeling judgey about circuit gays, but also recognizes that he is exhausted and fed up with them. He also shares his concern about people who are in their late 20s and still living with roommates. He wonders at what age they will be able to afford to live alone and if their roommates will end up becoming their life partners. Bobby reminds the listeners and Jim that not everyone can afford to live alone and they should be considerate of that. Bobby also brings up a topic of a recent death of a friend and how it has affected him, he also mentions that he is dedicating his life to this friend. He also brings up the topic of edibles and how they are kicking in and making it hard for him to speak.
They also talk about the issue of anti-sodomy laws and how lawmakers are trying to bring them back. He finds it funny that straight people are so obsessed with gay people's sex lives and wants to make it illegal, but also wants to know what goes on in their bedrooms. He points out that being gay doesn't always mean that one likes anal sex. He also mentions the situation where his mother sprained her ankle on the first night of her visit and how it changed their plans for the night. They ended up ordering Shake Shack and Ben and Jerry's from CVS, and Bobby made her watch Drag Race, but she was not impressed. Bobby also mentions that he finds the current season of Drag Race to be rushed and not as good as it started off.
Additionally, Bobby mentions an incident at a restaurant where he and jim were checking out their waiter and Bobby's mother asked if Bobby ever notice hot girls. Bobby and Jim admitted that they don't really look at hot girls, which led to an interesting conversation about attraction and dating preferences. Bobby also mentions that he used to date girls in the past, but he is fully gay now. He recalls an awkward prom photo pose and how uncomfortable he felt during dances in high school. He also mentions his grandfather asking him if he likes girls and if he's ever had a girlfriend before. Bobby also talks about how he's a math business lesbian and how he looks like a lesbian math teacher and completely owns it.
Instead of using a middleman to communicate, Jim also encourages individuals to speak directly with their friends or coworkers. Bobby emphasizes the need for authenticity and honesty in both your friends and foes. Don't even get them started on the weather and forecasts, that's such a waste of time.
This episode is a relatable and thought-provoking conversation that will make you laugh and think. You will also probably look at your life choices and think, what have i just done with the last hour of my life. You're Welcome.

The twin's fans find much entertainment in seeing the two drag stars bicker and banter in their videos. They’ve made a whole series out of their playful arguments, and even host “competitions,” where they create two separate looks to see which one of them gets more likes. The twins say that working as drag queens allows them to express themselves as individuals and they have always been passionate about drag, even as kids. They grew up with dolls as their models and turned them into photographs, now they use their own selves as canvas.
Nostradamus, whose full name was Michel de Nostradamus, was a French physician, astrologer, and reputed seer who lived in the 16th century. He is best known for his book of prophecies called "Les Propheties" in which he made a series of predictions about future events. These predictions, written in quatrains (four-line poems), cover a wide range of topics including war, natural disasters, and the fate of individual rulers and countries. While many of his predictions are open to interpretation, many people have claimed that some of them have come true, leading to a continued fascination with his work. His influence on esotericism, divination and occultism. Many followers believes that Nostradamus had a supernatural insight into the future which was aided by his extensive study of history, astrology and other forms of divination.
Nostradamus predictions have a good influence in popular culture, several movies and TV shows are based on his predictions, you can find them streaming on different platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
It's worth noting that Nostradamus's predictions are subject to many interpretation, the validity and accuracy of the predictions are debatable and there are many skeptics that think that his predictions are too vague and open to interpretation. It's important to approach his work with a critical eye and consider the historical and cultural context in which it was created.

This week is a doozy and at the end we completely loose it and almost unalive our self laughing. Quick side note, call our voicemail and tell us what's making you not well.
First things first, we had to talk about our viral Tik-Tok Video where Jim goes off on religion (not actual christianity).
We believe that religion is misguided and harmful, and that those who believe in God are misguided and likely hate others. We also mocked certain aspects of Catholicism, such as the concept of transubstantiation and the idea that unbaptized children go to purgatory or limbo. We argued that those who worship God are missing out on fun and joy in life, and that God would be disappointed in their actions and choices. Overall, we were critical of religion.
We move on to a more serious subject. The settler and the reacher in any relationship. Bobby recently saw a post on Reddit about someone who was trying to meet someone else for over a month and was constantly texting them, even though they weren't responding. Jim thinks this person was likely a "pathetic little twink gay boy" and that this behavior is indicative of a dynamic in relationships called "settlers" and "reachers."
In this dynamic, one person in the relationship is the "settler," meaning they are considered more attractive or desirable compared to their partner, while the other person is the "reacher," meaning they are less attractive or desirable and constantly shower their partner with attention and affection.
I think it's important to recognize this dynamic and try to avoid being a "Reacher" in relationships. Instead, it's better to play it cool and not overly text or shower your partner with attention.
Jim talks about the origins of a selfie.
Selfies have become ubiquitous on social media, and many people seem to love them. But are they really worth all the hype?
Jim despises selfies, citing their annoyance with the proliferation of these photos on social media. Bobby suggest that selfies may originally have been used as a way to prove one's presence at a particular location. For example, someone might take a selfie before heading out into dangerous territory or while participating in an important event. Alternatively, people might take selfies as proof of being alive after losing contact with friends or family during an emergency situation.
Both Bobby & Jim express frustration with those who constantly post selfies online and wonder why we can't just start speaking out against this behavior. Perhaps when enough people do so, it will finally give pause to those who are addicted to self-promotion through photo updates!
