2020 started out as a very good year for world famous illusionist Rick Thomas.  He had just embarked on an extended tour but like for so many people, in March of 2022, the world as we knew it simply shut down.  In Chapter 43 of his book The Tiger Whisker, Rick tells Tammy Trujillo about how he and his crew and dancers traveled three days to the first stop on the tour, only to find out it had been cancelled and then they watched the world shut down because of COVID as they wound their way back to Branson.  The pandemic presented many challenges and changed all our lives forever. Rick talks about what he learned about life and about planning for the future.

What happens when you achieve your dream and then lose it.  That's what happens in Chapter 42 of Rick Thomas' book The Tiger Whisker.  World famous illusionist Rick Thomas talks with Tammy Trujillo about his difficult decision to leave Las Vegas,  the place he had dreamed of performing since he was a child. As Rick says, outside forces sometimes make you reshape your dream and in this case, the result led him to a Andy Williams Theater in Branson, Missouri where he continues to perform his signature show, the Mansion of Dreams.  And Rick and Tammy talk about Rick's new weekly radio show -  The Magic of Dreams with Rick Thomas - which debuted last week on My 100.1 FM.  Tammy gets an 'I told you so' moment when Rick admits that radio is a lot harder than it seems!

You've heard the phrase, but what does it really mean?  In this episode of Nothing Happens Until You Dream - based on world-famous magician Rick Thomas' book The Tiger Whisker,  Rick explains how others influenced him in his career and that helped him to achieve his dream. He tells Tammy Trujillo about one magician who refused to watch the shows of any illusionist because of fear that it would taint his own originality.  Needless to say, his career never really took off.  Plus a Blizzard update!  Blizzard is no longer in the stage show Mansion of Dreams.  At 13 weeks, he weighs oveor 60 pounds - too big to be a part of the Shrinking Dog illusion any longer.   Look for Blizzard to be back on stage in Branson, Missouri as in another role as soon as he's an adult!

Sometimes we are so focused on a goal that we don't really appreciate what happens along the way in reaching it.  In this episode, world-famous magician Rick Thomas tells Tammy Trujillo about how he learned that it pays to be in the moment and enjoy yourself wherever you are, even if it is not where you think you should be.  Rick recalls setting his sights on Las Vegas as a child and even though he was performing in some amazing - and some not so amazing places - on the way to getting to the script, he may not have appreciated them as much as he should have.  And Rick reveals that sometimes when you reach your goal, you may be surprised to find out it isn't all you thought that it might be.  Plus Rick shares an email that came in just a few moments before recording the show, that really took him by surprise.

We all know about potholes...they can ruin your tires or even your car.  But in this  episode, based on Chapter 38 of famed illusionist Rick Thomas' book The Tiger Whisker,  he tells Tammy Trujillo about potholes he saw that are unlike any you have probably ever encountered.  He saw them during a visit to his wife and co-star in The Mansion of Dreams, Tara's home country of Zimbabwe.  What's most amazing is how some enterprising young boys had found a way to make money with these potholes!  Plus we get an update on Blizzard, the newest member of the Thomas' family and how he is taking Branson, Missouri by storm.

Have you ever had something relatively simple happen to you that changed you in a big way. That's what this epsiode based on Chapter 37 of  Rick Thomas' book The Tiger Whisker is all about.  Rick tells Tammy Trujillo about several experiences in his life that have had a lasting impact on him, even though they were really quite simple, and talks about the lessons they taught him that he carries with him to this day.  Plus, Rick adds a story that isn't in the book - one that happened when he was alone in the showroom following a performance in Las Vegas.  It's one you have to hear to believe!  And we get an update on Blizzard, the newest member of the Thomas' family and the show Mansion of Dreams which Rick performs in Branson, Missouri.  Blizzard is the star of the Shrinking Dog illusion but in real life what he is doing is growing - fast!
