In this episode I cover what 'habit stacking' is, why it is very beneficial for fat loss and what it actually looks like with real-world examples.

As you listen, I invite you to start thinking about incorporating habit stacks into your daily life, so that you can over time build momentum and maintain focus until you achieve your weight loss, well-being or other goals.

  • Ep38: 'Surfing' For Fat Loss & A Happier Life

We all get stressed and stress is normal, it's just that it isn't always helpful - especially for optimal health, fat loss or living our best lives.

So it is crucial that we understand what stress actually IS on a cognitive, physiological and behavioural to then identify ways to better manage it.

I always talk to my therapy and nutrition clients about stress management being similar to surfing - we cannot stop the tide but we can learn to surf the waves, rather than try to change, control or avoid them (and doing so makes stress more intense).

Here are ways to 'surf' those waves so that you better navigate and unhook from stress, so that you can make better life choices.

As always, if you enjoyed this episode leave a comment and share with someone who could benefit from hearing it.

  • Ep 36: Mindful Eating for Food & Mood Freedom

Mindfulness is an effective vehicle for observing in-the-moment thoughts, feelings and physical sensations. It is a practice that takes time and dedication and I teach this to my clients (as well as using it daily myself).

It has huge health benefits and is particularly effective when used to guide better eating habits (and other areas of life too).

Join me as I dive into the science proving it's application to fat loss, but let's also remember its true purpose - to enhance our health and well-being and giving us space to reflect rather than react to the curveballs life throws at us.

  • Ep34: Movement & Mood

Types of movements hailed by research includes strength training, cardio and flow state activities (yoga, tai chi). But essentially it is about what you enjoy as you will be more likely to keep doing it.

So when it comes to your own level or choice of movement make sure that it is fun, functional and sustainable and your mind in particular will very much thank you for it.

  • Ep 33 - Mindset Barriers In Fat Loss

When it comes to lasting weight loss and well-being, reaching your goals will usually take longer than you realise.

So be prepared for the timing of fat loss to not necessarily coincide with your efforts to make it happen. It doesn't mean it isn't happening, it just means that the variety of factors that influence the rate of fat loss (which are rarely 100% predictable) are having a temporary impact on our weight loss progress.

But ultimately the body cannot ignore a genuine calorie deficit, so as long as you are in one, you can't NOT drop body fat.

This episode highlights the need to be in the right frame of mind from the outset and willing to engage in the habits that lead to fat loss irrespective of mood or perceived lack of progress to date.

I chat about the common mindset barriers we should prep ourselves for before and revisit during our fat loss journey - and they are key areas I focus on with my Academy and 1:1 clients.

Enjoy, like and share with someone who needs to hear this episode.

    Much Love,
