Better late than never. In this super late episode of Now Conspiring, we dive into Ridley Scott’s franchise and discuss what made it so great and whine about all the questions that are still unanswered, even after watching Alien: Covenant.

Before our science fiction rant, we talk about real science in our very first Bridget’s Science Corner! It is quite a treat with a great reaction track provided by our Sam Noland.

Question of the Week: What do you think of the Alien franchise and its influence on Sci-Fi movies?

SIDE NOTES: Jenny had to leave at some point during the show, which is why she suddenly doesn’t have any opinions about anything we talked about but we later added her outro so you don’t forget how freaking great Jenny is. As if you’d forget…

It aggravates us to know of these amazing actors that don’t receive the praise or fame they deserve. In these week of Now Conspiring, the gang talks about their favorite underrated actors. As expected, we had major issues with the word ‘underrated’ and some actual Academy Nominees made it to our list. I know. We apologize.

Before that we play a new game suggested by one of our listeners, Kiss Marry Kill. You will be surprised who Bridget picks to marry in order to explore the universe.

Later on, Bridget discusses her mixed feelings for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and then geeks out with Adonis about their unconditional love for Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

We have a full house on this week’s episode. RAK (aka Khan) and Jenny Pan join the podcast along with Maria’s best friend, Evie. After lengthy introductions and many fun tangents, we go around the table to talk about what we have read or watched in the past few weeks. This is quickly followed by Evie saying very embarrassing things about Maria that can never be unheard.

Later on, we play Guess the Disney Song! Where Jenny is overconfident, Sam is confused by everyone’s hardwired knowledge of Disney and a lot of yelling from everybody involved.

It is important to note after a certain point, Sam unofficially quits the game and continues to play his computer game, which we were all able to watch. In case you hear anyone saying ‘Sam! You nearly died’ or ‘Sam exploded’, we mean the game.

Question of the Week: What is your favorite Disney song?

Just because they are famous, doesn’t mean they live up to the hype. This week on Now Conspiring, we talk about the actors and actresses we consider overrated but not before playing a good ol’ round of Would You Rather.

We also discuss a little bit of what we did during our Easter weekend and our family traditions like ultra-challenging egg hunts.

Later on, we reply to all of your comments which were all mostly related to 13 Reasons Why and how it could negatively affect people suffering with depression.

It's just us girls this week — Maria and Bridget — talking about personal stuff; and by ''talking'' I mean Maria asking questions and Bridget hating Maria for it. And by ''personal stuff'' I mean questions about our favorite movies and what they mean to us.

After making Bridget uncomfortable, we move on to talk in depth about the latest Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and how it represents suicide, teenage depression and bullying.

Then, during the Comment on your Comments section, we have a sequel to our previous Science throwdown, although this time it is less intense and more amicable.

Question of the Week: What Netflix shows or movies do you recommend?

When we can’t decide what to talk about, we end up talking about everything. In this week’s episode we are joined by the lovely Jenny Pan to talk about the latest movie trailers and to question the violence rate in Pulp Fiction (Sam doesn’t think it’s that violent. Shocker).

We also review the latest Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, and the new live action manga adaptation, Ghost in the Shell. But it doesn’t stop there. Jenny expresses some delayed frustrations about the live action Beauty and the Beast and it snowballs into a full on rant.

Then, during the Comment on your Comments section, Bridget tells it like it is when a commenter defies her knowledge of physics. It is quite a special segment.

Question of the Week: Should Bridget have a Science Corner segment in the podcast?

AKA The One Where Bridget and Maria Become Best Friends and Talk About LIFE. The boys took a week off from the podcast, which left Bridget and Maria to bond extensively over their love and hate for the new sci-fi movie Life - directed by Daniel Espinosa. Bridget brings up some Would You Rather questions and geeks out hard over Calvin the Alien, and Maria masterfully manipulated Bridget into liking her more than Sam.

Since Hollywood isn't planning on slowing down with the remakes and Kong: Skull Island is now in theaters, the gang talks about the movies they think merit a remake. We also discuss what should be considered when remaking a franchise or a standalone movie, from respecting the original story to the style the director chooses to portray it. If you stick around long enough, you will hear Maria and Sam basically screaming out all the things wrong about Kong: Skull Island. Don’t worry. No one was harmed during the rant.

Question of the Week: What is your favorite movie remake? What movie do you think deserves a remake and why?

Additional Question: What is your favorite pick for our new podcast name?

Here are the choices! Part Time Character, The Projectionists, The Voice Over, The Talkies
