this week the boys have on members of the Oakland-based band TONED to discuss virtuoso Hot Dad's 2017 classic album about the holiest of squared circles, "Wrestle", as he takes us on a sonic adventure through many of the biggest personalities in professional wrestling history. we also suplex our way through bits of tampa's historic relationship with wrestling and discover some disturbing truths about matthew broderick, who 100% killed a guy.

check out TONED at bandcamp if you know whats good for you:

their self-titled album is a masterpiece and well worth the purchase

chase is still down for the count this week righting the wrongs of the partitioning of the indian subcontinent, so ben and dave invite another St Louis mover and shaker on: David Ben-Gurion (no relation), proprietor of STL's own "AAA111 Barcycle". David shares some top-secret tricks of the barcycle trade, dishes some industry gossip, and even spills some tea on ol' beantown (st louis) itself. come take a ride with us as we explore the nuances of peddling a bike and drinking alcohol at the same time.

the boys are down a chase and up a joe this week as they do a little bit of homework about what makes good podcasts "good" by looking at the #1 podcast in the world (we think): joe rogan. a veritable octagon of intellectual beatdowns, we listen as joe, louis CK, and some guy named joe list lazily talk about the ups and downs of being a stand up in between bathroom breaks.

thank you for listening!

the boys get a little français this week with the tour de force cinematique "La Haine", a movie about three working class young adults struggling to survive while much of their surrounding world is collapsing in on itself. we also do a bit of investigative field work concerning the British publication Far Out, who seems to have much of their staff pumping out work under various pseudonyms? we're honestly not sure.

everyone is back at their home studios now so the better audio quality should be reflective of our episodes to come.

as always, thank you for hanging out with us!

this week the boys look at what could easily be the worst movie of 2022, "Uncharted": a movie that nobody seemed to want to be a part of, yet somehow still made nearly half a billion dollars. also somebody gets a little judgmental about a very normal amount of food from mcdonalds
this is the last episode of the semi-live recording setup we had this summer, so audio quality will thankfully increase moving forward now.

The boys have done it again - we had to change the name of the pod one last time: Now Friends Talking. For our (3rd) inaugural episode, we're talking about the first two installments in the seminal Japanese samurai film series, "Lone Wolf and Cub", about Ogami Itto and his infant son walking the demon path of hell. We'll be staying on this RSS feed so you don't have to worry about going elsewhere to find us, but stay tuned for updated social media accounts and contact info!

Thank you as always for killing an hour with us!

this week the boys finally get to watching "Crimes of the Future", the latest movie out by David Cronenberg starring Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux, and Kristen Stewart. this episode is a bit longer than usual due to final opinions varying in the gang but make sure to check the film out yourself if you don't want anything spoiled!

Next week's episode:
Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance (1972) dir. Kenji Misumi

this week the boys play catch up mostly because we keep getting covid, which made it hard to see "Crimes of the Future". we're very scandinavian in our approach to summer labor (an affront to nature), so bear with us as we wrap up vacations and sicknesses and we'll get back to a more regular release schedule. thank you for bearing with us!

we get the legend himself David Cronenberg on the pod to discuss his two epics, Videodrome and Dead Ringers. He dives into why the Three Lokos are the perfect people to carry on his legacy, why Chase deserves to date 80s-era Debbie Harry, and why he'll always look up to Chase as an artist, writer, and director.
