After practicing for some time, it will become abundantly obvious that for the vast majority of patients with musculoskeletal dysfunction, the quicker someone can get to PT, the better. In another installment of the mini-series "Why Should I Pay You?" Andy and Daniel discuss two ways that a patient can enter the healthcare system, and how these ways can lead to drastically different outcomes depending on how quickly they get the care they need.

As PT's, especially for new grads, it can be difficult when to determine if a patient is appropriate for discharge. Obviously, it would be great if everybody met 100% of their goals, but we know that is not always the case. Andy and Daniel discuss their rationale for their thought process about when it is appropriate for a patient to be discharged from therapy.

If you polled every practicing PT, what do you think would be their number one complaint with their daily responsibilities? 9.5/10 (it's confirmed) would say documentation. As a student, you likely had to do tremendously detailed documentation to appease your CI, but do you need to continue to do that once you start practicing? Listen in and find out as Andy and Daniel discuss their viewpoint on successful documentation as a new grad and beyond.

Andy and Daniel talk about what "Direct Access" actually means to us as PT's. They discuss how they go into an evaluation that is Direct Access, and how that may differ from other evaluations if a patient has a referral. They also dive into, in their opinion, when it may be necessary to refer a patient out to another practitioner, which is especially important in a case of Direct Access care.
