The NRL will consider changing the rules when players are tackled in the air regardless of whether the ball has bounced previously, according The Sydney Morning Herald’s Michael Chammas.

With scores locked at 22-all in the Warriors and Manly clash on Friday, a field goal attempt was charged down before the ball bounced and as Reuben Garrick jumped up to catch it, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad collected his legs and the Manly fullback landed flat on his back.

The Big Marn blew up over the incident and Chammas told The Continuous Call Team the NRL will review the rule once the season is completed.

“(Peter) V’landys said they will look at it over the off-season,” Chammas said.

“We know that player safety has been paramount in his decision-making.”

Chammas also spoke about the Wests Tigers appointing a new Head of Football and who could play where during week one of the NRL finals.
