The duo highlight the origins of clean school bus grants and rebates through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA), as well as how NSTA has been a DERA coalition leader for many years. Rich and Curt then provide the genesis and an overview of the 2022 Clean School Bus (CSB) Rebate Program - where the environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began to accept applications this month. Rich outlines amendments to the CSB program that the NSTA Advocacy Team is working on, such as direct school bus operator access to funds and the five-year service requirement. Finally, Rich and Curt talk about the Business Counsel Program, and how contractors can take advantage of this NSTA member benefit while applying for Clean School Bus Program funds.
