Federal Opposition Leader Sussan Ley has dumped Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price from the Shadow Ministry, saying the Northern Territory Senator "failed to uphold standards".

Senator Nampijinpa Price has refused to apologise after last week incorrectly suggesting the government's migration program favoured Labor-leaning Indian migrants.

One member of the Indian diaspora has fought back on social media, urging the senator to promote unity over division.
