A new pope has been elected. Cardinal Robert Prevost is now the leader of the Catholic Church, taking the name Pope Leo XIV. He is the first American ever to hold the title. President Donald Trump extended his congratulations, calling the news "a great honor" for the United States.

Trump unveiled his first post-tariff trade deal with the UK, saying it will be the first of many. He plans to negotiate a deal with the European Union and says he is open to reducing his 145 percent tariffs on China, with talks scheduled for this weekend.
